DEFINITIONS
Harp Duet or Trio A harp duet or trio is any duet or trio where at least one performer is playing a harp.
Harp Ensemble A harp ensemble is any ensemble of four or more performers, in which at least half of the performers in the ensemble are playing a harp.

Adjudication Classes in this discipline are adjudicated competitively except where otherwise specified.
Eligibility and Instrumentation Each category of class in this discipline specifies the eligibility of performers or ensembles to enter classes within that category, including permitted instrumentation.
Repertoire Each class specifies the quantity of repertoire selections required for that class in its description. If a class permits performance of more than one selection, multiple selections must be contrasting - distinct from one another in style, mood, tempo, and so on. Selections may be accompanied or unaccompanied. When in doubt, the adjudicator determines the suitability of a repertoire selection for its class.
Own Choice Selections that aren't Set Pieces may be freely chosen unless the class includes some other repertoire restriction, subject to the difficulty constraints noted below.
Difficulty If a class specifies a Conservatory level, selections performed in that class must match or approximately match its level; otherwise, they must be suited to the technical proficiency of the performer or performers.
Multi-Movement Works When performing two or more movements from a multi-movement work, you combine such movements into a single selection, and may not perform them as distinct selections. These movements must be contrasting where possible. When performing multiple movements from a multi-movement work in a class, unless otherwise specified you may combine two movements with a combined duration of no more than fve (5) minutes from the work together.
Advanced Solo Harp
RULES & REGULATIONS
Eligibility Performers entering a class in this category must have an advanced level of study as defined in the Festival Rules & Regulations: that is, they must be either:
- Studying for their RCM ARCT exam, or
- Performing at a comparable level of technical proficiency, as estimated in consultation with their teachers.
Performers may freely combine these classes with Open classes.
Instrumentation If a class specifies a particular kind of harp, a performer must be playing that specific harp to enter that class. If a class specifies "harp" without any further detail, any harp performer may enter that class.
Multi-Movement Works When performing a Conservatory selection, you must combine multiple movements from a multi-movement work together as specified in the Conservatory list from which you chose your selection. When performing an Own Choice selection, you may combine any number of movements from such a work together into a single selection.

Open Solo Harp
RULES & REGULATIONS
Eligibility Performers entering a class in this category must be performing at an advanced level of technical proficiency, equal to or greater than the level required for performers studying for or achieving an associate certificate from RCM or CC. Performers may freely combine these classes with Advanced classes.
Instrumentation If a class specifies a particular kind of harp, a performer must be playing that specific harp to enter that class. If a class specifies "harp" without any further detail, any harp performer may enter that class.
Multi-Movement Works When performing an Own Choice selection, you may combine any number of movements from such a work together into a single selection.
