RULES & REGULATIONS

Adjudication Classes in this discipline are adjudicated competitively.

Eligibility Performers are eligible to enter organ classes as follows:

  • Performers who are not yet playing at a level of technical proficiency corresponding to RCM Conservatory levels may enter junior classes.
  • Performers whose level of study, as defined in the Rules & Regulations, corresponds to RCM Conservatory levels for organ may enter classes specifying those levels in their name.
  • Performers whose level of study is equivalent to RCM ARCT or above may enter Open classes.
  • Performers aged 19 or older may enter adult classes in addition to other classes.
  • Performers aged 29 or older may only enter adult classes.

Solo Organ

Repertoire One or more selections, up to eight selections total; Time Limit 30 minutes.

Additional Rules

  • Selections must be of an advanced level of difficulty, approximately equivalent to the difficulty of selections in RCM ARCT repertoire lists.
  • Multiple selections must be contrasting in terms of style, mood, tempo, and so on.
  • When performing a multi-movement work, you may combine any number of movements together in a single selection. You may not perform multiple movements from the same work as separate selections.
  • When in doubt, the adjudicator determines the suitability of a selection for this class.

Class:OG105 - Adult Organ

Repertoire One or two selections; Time Limit 15 minutes.

  • Selections must be of a level of difficulty suitable to the technical proficiency of the performer.
  • Multiple selections must be contrasting in terms of style, mood, tempo, and so on.
  • When performing a multi-movement work, you may combine any number of movements together in a single selection. You may not perform multiple movements from the same work as separate selections.
  • When in doubt, the adjudicator determines the suitability of a selection for this class.
